Working with Lonnie and Hearth & Home Forge was a true pleasure from start to finish of our project. Lonnie is creative, detail-oriented, particular, quality-minded, and a true artisan blacksmith. He made a gorgeous fireplace screen for us, with a hammered/riveted frame and flanked by two red oak trees with branches, leaves, and acorns adorning the "body" of the screen. It is super well built and the detail is amazing. He actually used red oak leaves and acorns from the woods around him as templates for making our hand-forged leaves and acorns. We visited his shop on a couple occasions to observe his techniques and tweak the design interactively with him. Every step through the life of the project was a delight working with Lonnie (and I'm not easily impressed)! If your project involves hand-forged steel with a highly detailed or artful design, Lonnie and Hearth & Home Forge should be on your short list!
